THE A-FITS DIFFERENCE

Video + Audio Monitored Classrooms

Another layer of safety, transparency, context, and accountability for A-FITS families.

Every A-FITS classroom is video and audio monitored.

For families of students with autism, knowing what happens during the school day matters. Some students may have communication differences, may communicate nontraditionally, or may not always be able to fully explain an event after it occurs.

Safety. Transparency. Context. Accountability.

An Additional Layer of Student Safety

Classroom video and audio monitoring provides A-FITS leadership with an additional source of objective information when a safety concern, incident, behavior pattern, or classroom question needs to be reviewed.

Rather than relying only on memory or secondhand descriptions, school leadership can review the context surrounding an event and better understand what occurred before, during, and after it.

Especially Important for Students With Communication Differences

Many students with autism communicate in different ways. Some students may have difficulty describing an incident, sequencing events, identifying what happened first, or communicating the complete context of a situation.

Video and audio monitoring does not replace listening to students. It gives school leadership another tool for understanding what occurred when additional context is needed.

Supporting Better Behavioral Understanding

When behavior occurs, context matters.

Monitoring can help leadership review environmental conditions, interactions, expectations, transitions, communication, potential antecedents, staff responses, and what followed the behavior. That information can help the team make more informed decisions about student support.

Staff Development & Accountability

Monitoring also supports staff coaching, professional development, accountability, and continuous improvement.

A-FITS can review classroom practice when necessary, identify opportunities for coaching, reinforce effective approaches, and help maintain consistent expectations across classrooms and campuses.

Across A-FITS Classrooms

Video and audio monitoring is used in classrooms across A-FITS campuses as part of our broader commitment to providing a safe, transparent, and accountable school environment.

Monitoring is managed by A-FITS in accordance with school procedures and student privacy expectations.

One Part of a Larger Safety Culture

Technology alone does not create a safe school. Student safety also depends on appropriate staffing, clear procedures, trained employees, communication with families, responsible leadership, and a school culture that takes concerns seriously.

Classroom monitoring gives A-FITS one more tool to support that responsibility.
